Search for "Mesa Boogie Mini Rectifier" and watch all those vids there, and you come to realize one thing: all those guys are using the same amp, yet nobody makes it sound better than Ola does, Damn.

Anybody compared the mini rec to a Engl ironball.  The ironball looks like a real serious lunch box...

I've had one for a week. Wasn't gonna carry a dual rec around. The tone IMO is nearly identical to the dual rec. But you do lose the big boomy bottom end provided by the 6L6 tubes. Playing in a band though, those frequencies just get swallowed up by the bass. Plus if you're recording, you cut those frequencies anyway. So perfect for me as a band member and recording guy. I like the tightness of the mini rec. It cuts through at practice and it is WAY LOUD. I mean, super loud. I may have to get a brake. I have it set on 10-15% master with 90% gain (metal). The 10W / 25W switch doesn't cut much volume, it's more of a tone altering switch (as I believe it alters the configuration of the power tubes). I play through an Engl E212V (which is too heavy haha). Only downside is the price, mine was £900 from Thomann. But then, I'm a gear slut :) recently upgraded from the H&K tubemeister 36 (not enough gain but LOADS of cool features). Anyway, if you've got the cash and you are a serious musician who plays and records the mini rec is the choice :) if you like to sit in front of you amp at home drooling over huge low end get the dual rec. \m/

Is there someone here ? I hope so. I'vo got a question: I always preferred record in d-line, direct in my scarlett focusrite 2i2. And I will, probably, buy this mini rectifier amp. My question is; do you know if the amp quality is good in d-line recording ?

Does anyone who has this amp able to tell me if you need a speaker attenuator to get a high gain metal sound at low volume?

Ola, awesome as always. Would you consider the mini good enough for recording an album in a small studio or is this more of a practice amp?

Ola Englund - the only man that can take any selection of gear at all and make it sound the same

Is this all amplifier distortion or are you running a pedal through it?

I really like your toneeee in that soloo. Did you use a overdrive or a tubescreamer on the minirectifier? I have the same amp
