This is a great example of Death Metal, without being stereotypical. It combines the bombastic energy of Extreme Metal, with a good mix of groove and melody, resulting in the awesome mix that this album provides. I give it a solid 9/10 just because it's fucking awesome like that.

@guillotinedeath TBH this hardly SUCKS, I think it was a good effort for a first album (1998). Go and check their later stuff, hopefully you'll think it'll suck less.

@guillotinedeath Thats much better! Much more polite then writing they suck in caps. :) I do admit, the First Breath album is not their best, but i do hope you listen to some of Mercenary's later stuff like EverBlack and 11 Dreams. Cheers
