Stag was definitely the best album the Melvins made while signed to Atlantic. A few of my all-time favorite Melvins songs are on Houdini and Stoner Witch, but Stag was amazing all the way through. The trombone (?) section on "Bar X The Rocking M" is kinda weird but actually pretty gnar, especially the solo lol. The following is irrelevant, but I don't think I've ever actually mentioned this anywhere: 'The Maggot' is my favorite Melvins record. I keep it in constant rotation. Every track is fucking incredible. Noisey, droning sections... thick, sludgey riffs that are saturated in distortion <3 <3 <3 ...droning, distorted, noisey, slow, repetitive, unholy heaviness. <3 <3 <310 years ago
