Today's Memory

A happy birthday to :Melissa Lou Etheridge (1961) is an American rock singer-songwriter, guitarist, and activist. Her self-titled debut album Melissa Etheridge was released in 1988 and became an underground hit. In 1993, Etheridge won her first Grammy award for her single "Ain't It Heavy" from her third album, Never Enough. Later that year, she released what would become her mainstream breakthrough album, Yes I Am. The album featured three Top 40 hits, including "I'm the Only One" (No. 8) and "Come to My Window" (No. 25), the latter which scored Etheridge her second Grammy award. Etheridge's performance was widely lauded, with India.Arie writing "I Am Not My Hair" about Etheridge. Later that year, Etheridge released her first compilation album, Greatest Hits: The Road Less Traveled. The album was a huge success, peaking at No. 14 on the Billboard 200, and going Gold almost immediately. Her latest release is This Is M.E..Etheridge is known for her mixture of "confessional lyrics, pop-based folk-rock, and raspy, smoky vocals." One of my favorites, this song is pure imagery and energy, just like all of the best Melissa Etheridge songs.are. I've followed Melissa off and on since 1990 and I've never been disappointed.

Great comment by VivatLupus!!!! Its nice to see a 17 year old that's recognizes how great this is!!!!!!!!!! This is the real friggin deal!!!!! Antares auto tune is the absolute worse thing that ever happened to the music industry!! Rap, hip hop, with all this crap on it is a complete and utter waste of time, I cannot figure out what people like about that crap, talentless people with no heart, no soul waste of time BS!!!

One 12-string guitar....... and a whole lot of energy. Always a great choice for a rock n roll instrument.....

I'm 17 years old, and amazed. Just one woman, one guitar. No drums, not back up vocals, not extra guitars, no studio, no autotune, just what. This is amazing. I love this. Why isn't this getting some light shined too? Like even if it's old, how often do you really see this?

Gotta laugh at the straight guys just now figuring out what kind of music gets a woman's motor running. They are not all lesbians... at least not full time.
