I love this woman, I go back to look at her performances often can't get enough of her, and she is beautiful. i know her life style and it is respected, and still does not take away from the fact that she is beautiful and talented.

Technically the BEST vocal on AI like ever,if u close your eyes and listen,it sounds like it's already recorded,absolutely astoundingThis imo was the last good season vocally,the seasons afterwards felt like the top 12 was mixed with maybe 6 out of twelve really good singers

She was never my cup of tea but I do agree, in terms of vocal talent, Melinda should've been runner-up to Jordin Sparks. (Jordin Sparks was still the best and my fav from day one).

I miss this season of American Idol... so much potential..... so much genuine heart felt soulful singers... so much passion and drive to be the best. I felt this season was my favorite so far (Aside from my favs lambert and glover hehe)

Thus girl is one singer that I think SO MANY have overlooked when talking about past GREATS in the show... I understand it's a natter of taste and musical genre.., but Melinda Doolittle's "My Funny Valentine"....., is a vocal Master Class Period!.. Had she been "eye candy" like some of those gals universally recognized as such (Beyoncé/Ariana Grande/Shakira/Katy Perry), she'd prolly be in quite a few lists..........
