Seriously... is there any style of music that Melinda can't handle? She was so timid with Bon Jovi, but she kicked some major ass on stage -- as usual. If it wasn't for Blake busting a move, she would have been my favorite for the night. It was close though because I just love seeing Melinda cut loose. No matter what style she's singing, she appears to be a totally different person on stage... and I like that person.

Im sorry....I didn't see it at the time, but Melinda was/is so dam good. She's one of the best ever on the show, and deserved the crown that year. Unbeilevable voice, with the ability to sing any genre, hands down...GREAT!!!!

this is such a hard song to sing, and she makes it look like just another day at the office. I mean, I like Jordin to and am glad she won over blake, but the final should have been a combination of the last 3 ladies standing...blake was talented but only got as far as he did because many girls thought he was goodlooking

Awesome! watching Melinda vs Lakisha jones, her only real competition, was like Aretha Franklin vs Tina Turner,or Gladys Knight, when neither won out, I just couldn't take Idol seriously after that
