She's "eating the mic" because if she was a foot away it wouldn't sound as good as it does when shes right in front of it and that's how the song is sung. And that's her own way of singing the song, personal preference not everybody has to do it that way but that's just how she sings it and it doesn't matter anyway because she slayed it and it's over and done with you cant change it.
