Mazzy Star - Wasted (So Tonight That I Might See,1993-lyrics)

After I stuck my hands

Into your ground

And pulled out somebody else's son

I felt a little unfortunate

A little mistake

I felt like I'd been wasted

All day long

All day long

After I bent myself to my knees

And raised my hands up

Right above my head

I felt a little

A little bright patch

I felt like I'd been wasted

All day long

All day long

After I took my eyes

From the west

And brought myself back

To my place

I felt a little light for a while

A little light stone

I felt like I'd been wasted

All day long

All day long

Hope Sandoval has never been "Wasted all day" in her life . The song was about her brother that was high all day everyday as she was growing up ditching school. Her brother who is having a 24oz Corona at this writing says thank you for all the years of being your brother. Now that he's become the half brother he thinks maybe Putunia the name her family gave her as a child, got high on the vapors of her brother's toxicity. He says to the sound of my sisters memories she must have gotten a contact high. Or bumped her head along the way. Rock on Rocker her brother said.

Quite possibly, I believe Mazzy Star were influenced by Velvet Underground, for example, Heroin and The Doors, The End. That's good music, developing, not copying.

I wonder whether Jack White got inspired by this gem for the White Stripes' song Ball & Biscuit.
