I was fortunate enough to see Maynard twice when I was in high school. Our band director was instrumental in my musical education, and wherever you are Jerry Martin, thanks....I'll never forget you. I was second chair, first trombone in our band, and Maynard's first chair trombone at the time, Rick Petrone, was a big influence on me, as was Maynard himself. Many many days playing along with his albums...RIP dear friend. Thanks for the post...one of my all time favorites!!!
