True, but Mikey is dead, and Scott has been with Weezer the longest so if any one deserves to be on Bass it is Scott Shriner. (Also, Matt with a moog would be pretty epic)

I still have high hopes for SS2k and the Hiatus recordings. Some of my favorite Alone demos come from that era. And yes, the rest is sorta trash, but there's some pretty decent songs in the A5 demos that could be worked into something. It's worth nothing that, in a recent-ish interview (iirc, sometime on the cruise) , Rivers actually alluded to the Homie recordings being destroyed when the studio it was recorded in closed. Really hope that he just doesn't remember where they are.

I really doubt a modern day Matt/Rivers album would be that great. Both have been treading water as songwriters for a long time now. Rivers just decided to be the ultimate troll instead of care about craft. Matt contributed some great personality/touches in the 90s and ROTR is better than anything post-Pinkerton (except maybe Homie), but why didn't he speak up in the 90s (before his lawsuit) if he actually contributed to the songwriting on Blue/Pinkerton? He even credits Rivers as teaching him.

It's funny that you're agreeing with this comment when basically all of SFTBH *has* been released now. Homie, I agree I'd love to hear. Everything else you named has a 99% chance of being really terrible and not worth hearing anyway.

@BiscuitsJoe Don't forget Homie, SS2K, The Hiatus recordings (1998 - early 2000), The Black Album, The original A5, and many, many others.

@gokinsmen you gonna be waiting some time then.. If Rivers and Matt happen to reunite you might hear it.. He is the former bassist of Weezer.

I love scott shriner. But if there was some way for him AND matt to be in the band, that would be the coolest thing ever.
