I literally adore this tune. When I really, REALLY love something, I have the tendency to say something like "it hurts my heart, it's so amazing", and it confuses people. But there's always that recognition that the loveliest things in life also tend to be the most fleeting, and I feel really in touch with that recognition. I feel nostalgic for wonderful things as soon as I encounter them (and then forever afterwards). When this song came out I had just moved across Canada to the east coast to try and find some clarity (or something-- the move turned out to be a short one) and I when I first heard it I just felt all that nostalgia for my home rush in. I used to make my new found friends out there listen to it with me while we got stoned out of our trees (and they always humored me, hilariously). Now, when I listen to it I remember those late nights out east and it makes me miss them and the people I met and the freedom I had living so far away from home. *sigh* I digress. The song is absolutely beautiful and I still listen to it almost every day.
