This song was written and composed by the singer Udo Jürgens, who recently died with 80 years in the middle of his European Tour. Actually the song was sold to Frank Sinatra but he prefered to use My Way at the end of his concerts. So Sammy Davis, Jr. got the song from Sinatra and played it on all his concerts at the end.

The crooner's of the 60's got lost in the British invasion. MM, FS, John Gary were the exceptions, lucky for us.

Matt Munroe was a London bus driver and he was heard singing in his cab. Don't know whether it was true but I've been a fan since his early days.

I met Matt in 1972 in Umhlanga Rocks and Colin Keyes in Cape Town in 1973. We sat at the Piano until about 3.00am. Colin liked my Piano Syncopation to Gilbert O'Sullavan's " Ooh Wakkadoo Wakkaday. Colin was on the Pendennis Castle as MD I think.
