When I saw he wasn't accompanying himself with a guitar, I was prepared not to like this. Roger is, after all, is a musician singing about wanting to leave a lasting mark on society, and at this stage, he thinks that needs to be an epic song. And ye, Doyle's interp. had me hooked. The desperation is palpable, and transcends Roger wanting to leave a lasting piece of music; it foreshadows his desperate desire to influence humanity, even if he doesn't consciously realize it won't be through music.

Wow, I was blown away by the accompaniment. I love this more acoustic/not-electric version. It's so beautiful and just rips at your heartstrings. It takes away all the detachment that you feel in the Adam Pascal one, which yes, is necessary to the character, but not necessary to the song as shown here. I love this.
