WestSideOfJazzTrumpeter Mathias Eick has made quite a name for himself over the years, appearing with Jacob Young, drummer Manu Katché, and pianist/harpist Iro Haarla. In fact though barely past thirty, he has appeared in more than 50 albums. In this solo debut album the native Norwegian shows a wonderful melodic touch though at times with a tinge of melancholy. Hauntingly beautiful is a term that describes this album, and this song.
