This video is a visual masterpiece. The video was ranked by Blender magazine as one of the best 100 music videos ever made and it aired very rarely when first released in 1996. Listen to Madonna's spoken voice on the background track (echoing the sentiments of love and desire emitting internally) carefully. The symbology in the video is overwhelmingly emotional as it is filmed in Black and White (the torrid intimacy of her relationship with her mysterious lover, due to the elimination of color and the focus on shadows and light) and focuses on breaking the spell of desire with a caller (her lover) who she's patiently awaiting his call, but after numerous calls (reference to playing games with one's heart), she hangs up the phone on purpose supposedly at the moment he is about to speak to her, hence freeing her from the chains of desire.One word for this video: DEEP!
