I have watched the music video so many times but I only decided to watch this one and it's so much worse because you can see Mary's facial expressions, her body language and you can hear her voice shrink and falter. After listening to this song that touched my heart so deeply, I hoped that people would clearly understand the message, too. I, like many other people, struggle with low self-esteem, so I was expecting that other people would take her powerful words about reclaiming our bodies to heart. However, as I read the comments it was obvious that it did not matter that she poured her soul and inner-thoughts into a song for the public because all people saw was her weight. I am baffled as to why her weight matters, especially on a song that is trying to promote self-acceptance. It is such a shame that people took the time out of their day to comment about her weight. Clearly, they did not listen to her words. She talks about how we are worth more than what people think of us; therefore, what is the point of commenting about her weight? I am nothing but disgusted at the comments. I am having a hard time comprehending the cruelness and body-shaming in the comment section on a song about LOVING YOURSELF.Mary, thank you for your words, they truly touched my heart. You are beautiful.
