I have a few Phil Collins albums. That's because I truly have a wide taste in music. Most people say they have a wide taste in music then spend the next 20 minutes telling you about all the people they hate. Go figure. The Phil Collins CD's sitting on the shelf just along from the Church collection.

This was great! Really enjoyable. Funny thing - I've met Marty a few times before at shows, SXSW, etc., but the one time I actually randomly saw him out and about was at AMOEBA RECORDS in LA. I was just getting there, and he comes walking out with this bag stuffed with vinyl :)

This whole vinyl is better than CD thing in recent years is a load of BS. It's just nostalgia of older rockers that makes them buy vinyl. Else music that's cheap in used record stores and/or music that you can't buy on CD. They say vinyl is "warm", but that warmth isn't really a good thing, and not what the original musicians/sound people wanted it to sound like. A properly mastered CD will sound better and more accurate than vinyl any day.

I tried to copy his look in 1989, and I think I'll try to copy his look in another ten-twelve years when I'm the age he is now. Remarkably cool. MWP.

Marty is a terrific artist, and a really, really nice person.

You realize he's talking about the '60s/'70s Skid Row (Irish), not the '80s band of the same name (American), yes?

It's so moving to see rock stars years later. Marty Wilson-Piper was one of the best looking ones, I think, and he still looks great. I love the way he talks and his rather nervous enthusiasm. I hope vinyl records come back in some way, at least the size of the covers is adequate. Much love to the Russian Autumn Heart writer.
