On this day in 1949 {February 2nd} RCA Victor records released its first 45 RPM records; and one of the seven records released that day was "That's All Right Mama" by Arthur 'Big Boy' Crudup... Five years later in 1954 Elvis' covered version was his first release on Sun Records... In 1955 Marty Robbins took it to #7 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart... Arthur Crudup passed away on March 28th, 1974 at age 68... R.I.P. Mr. Crudup, Mr. Robbins {1925 - 1982}, and The King {1935 - 1977}
