I just pray people will love me anyway. None of us are far behind... and few can hope to have been so great, or so well loved as Martha Reeves.

Yoko Ono is looking good here.

Got to be a terrible thing to loose what you loved so much. Poor Martha. She's one of the great legends who broke ground for many others to follow. God bless her.

Sounds likes somebody shaking a cat. I'll just reminisce to the original version.

I hate to say it but her voice lost a lot of it's glory. I hope it's only temporary, that she can have her full voice back soon.

very sad... /watch?v=Zpy989kxLxo&feature=plcp she sounds good here, not as good as in the early days but good I'm very sorry for her, I mean her voice is there but it's that fu**ing vibrato she can't control, she really tries to but it doesn't work always

i love Martha, but I just watched a clip of her singing this in Brighton 3 months ago (February)...and her performance is pretty much like this one.

omg/ I'm sorry if she would've stayed calm it might have sounded ok. but that high yelping she does makes me laugh each and evey time. singing past your prime is never easy on the ears. Lena was a lady she knew when to stop martha might want to follow that example

In the years since this period her voice has returned full power. That is not unusual with lady singers as the years pass. They learn to use their voice in new ways and some work with vocal coaches to extend their line and range. She never at any point lost her intelligence or her feel for the music.

Another thing to point out, that pretty much sums it all up in a nutshell. Was the way her Pianist is looking, at another band member, around the 2:56 mark. It's as if he were thinking, are you KIDDING ME Martha...? Especially, when she tried to hit some of those higher, "drawn out" registers.
