For anyone who's played Super Mario 64 before, you may notice some striking similarities between this song and the Bowser Stage song. The famous composer of most (retro) Mario games, Koji Kondo, was in a Jazz band in the past and it definitely makes sense how this band would have contributed to some of his musical productions, including his video game music.
