Last year I saw Dylan and Jim James perform together on tour at the Americananrama Fest. Jim James said in an article in Rolling Stone that he was so excited to be touring with Mr. Dylan and couldn't wait to hang a bit with him and do some of his favorite tunes. Well Bob apparently didn't feel the same way and wasn't into hanging at all. He actually never even spoke to him off stage. They did the occasional encore cover song of Bob's choice and that was that. Jim's band did their set and Bob split after his.I was disappointed to here that, but Jim had the best attitude about it all. He was just so privileged to be touring with Dylan. This guy is a class act and truly one of the finest from any generation. A real humble talent with a voice straight from the heavens.Check this cat out live if he ever have a chance...serious inspiration.

In 1967. when Dylan wrote this song, a "hack" meant his "cab" or "taxi".

eh I was sort of a hack back then. Too far to the Left. Atheist Jews are always looking for a new religion. But now I got my thing together.

You can see why bob threw them lyrics out. Liked the first one, this track lacks melody.
