Mark Hoppus (bassist of blink-182 and lead singer of +44) ..he rocks!! and has an awesome voice and is hilarious...so I made this slideshow of him covering with one my favorite songs from his band +44

+44 -"No It Isn't" Lyrics:

Please understand

This isn't just goodbye

This is I can't stand you

This is where the road crashed into the ocean

It rises all around me

And now we're barely breathing

A thousand faces we'll choose to ignore

Curse my enemies forever

Let's slit our wrists and burn down something beautiful

This desperation leaves me overjoyed

With fading lights that lead us past the lives that we destroy

I listen to you cry

A cry for less attention

But both my hands are tied

And I'm pushed into the deep end

I listen to you talk but talk is cheap

And my mouth is filled with blood

From trying not to speak

So search for an excuse

And someone to believe you

In foreign dressing rooms

I'm empty with the need to

Curse my enemies forever

Let's slit our wrists and burn down something beautiful

This desperation leaves me overjoyed

With fading lights that lead us past the lives that we destroy

Curse my enemies forever

Let's slit our wrists and burn down something beautiful

This desperation is leaving me overjoyed

With fading lights that lead us past the lives that we destroy

Please understand

Lay rotting where I fall

I'm dead from bad intentions

Suffocated and embalmed

And now all our dreams are cashed in

You swore you wouldn't lose then lost your brain

You make a sound that feels like pain

So please understand

This isn't just goodbye

This is I can't stand you

This probably is my favorite +44 song. The feelings expressed are definitely some that I can relate to, and Mark did an excellent job of conveying the subdued anger and fatigue that he felt during Blink's breakup while also leaving the lyrics open ended enough to allow for the listener to enter their own personal tragedies into the song (which I can say I'm guilty of on multiple accounts). I'll admit, I was off put at first and thought it was just a song about a really bad breakup, which a type of song that I'm a little tired of hearing. However, after taking the time to sit and analyze beyond the simple progression on guitar (though I might be a little over critical on this end because I'm a musician myself and I've heard this progression way too many times) and my initial reaction, I came to the conclusion that I had horribly misinterpreted the meaning due to my cynical outlook on music (I mean, come on. All that plays on the mainstream radio stations nowadays is either love songs, breakup songs, or party songs.) There's so much I want to write about this, but I get the feeling that I'd end up just blathering "IT'S A GREAT SONG!" over and over again ha. So I'll just leave by saying great song, great band, and great job Mark!

Agreed. We all know it's about Tom, but the lyrics are so easy to relate too for anyone that comes from a fucked up place. Gotta love Mark Hoppus!
