Bloody hell. I put an audio-only recording of this on youtube some time ago - didn't notice this until now. Seeing the video just adds to the experience. This man is a tortured genius. So lucky to have seen him live (and on great form) on a number of occasions.

I saw Mark play on this tour in New York, and it was pretty much like him singing karaoke versions of his own songs which is to say, it was the best show I've ever seen. I'm only writing to say that his piano player ("piano player"), almost killed the entire show, and almost made it what it was. Bad, behind-tempo, erratic piano playing was effectively the Dean Martin to Mark Eitzel's Jerry Lewis. It could've been better, but it was only great.
