Best known for her duet with Phil Collins, "Seperate Lives", Marilyn Martin also had a minor hit with this song in 1986. It's a shame that she didn't make it bigger (and that this vid hasn't been upped before).

She's a realtor now (according to wikipedia).

This sort of makes "Twilight" look really ridiculous, doesn't it? THAT, is how a video should be done!

This song exploded onto Canadian radio in early `86! This track went to the top 40 in the us and Canada as well! The driving beat, awesome vocals and solid guitar work drove this song home! Is it only me that thinks they just don`t write songs like these anymore?

Marilyn Martin's 1986 self-titled debut album hit #72 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and the single "Night Moves" hit #28 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart. Sucked that her music career didn't take off afterwards.

One of the best vids of the 80's or even ever. Spooky little 5 min movie, She was a long time back ground singer for Stevie Nicks (Can be seen in many (Most all from 80's to 90's) of Stevie's live vids, and videos.) She did her version (my fav actually) of "Sorcerer" for the Streets Of Fire soundtrack with Stevie on Backing vocals ( A neat little switch). This has always been one of my favorite songs and still ranks with the chill factor.

Martin’s soaring voice, ever so slightly rough in its highest register, pulsed with a raw passion that exceeded nearly all her contemporaries. It’s a shame she recorded so little.

Awesome song, kinda reminds me of Pat Benatar, perhaps better. Marilyn was a great singer, her only downfall was she couldn't write songs, and this was the best song the record company ever threw her way!

I was searching for some unspecified background music I heard on “Heartbreak ridge” and “Top gun” and it led me here. Beautiful song, brings back memories.

Been looking for this for a long time, I remember seeing it on MTV way back when, Nina Blackwood talked about how Marilyn said it was based on 'The Hunger.' That was all I had to go by as I couldn't remember the artists name... great song.

It's been a couple months, but in hindsight I think maybe I've come to a conclusion for my own prior question: Why wasn't this song a bigger hit? Take it as you will, but I believe Marilyn Martin's inexplicable lack of chart success was tied to bad timing. The talent was there, no question, but the market wasn't right for her brand of material. If she had come out 10 years earlier, or even former, she would've likely fared better among the consumer market. Ultimately, it seems like hers is a case of "awesome act, terrible timing." :-(

This music video looks straight out of an 80s horror flick, haha

I think this was the first music video that I had ever watched which used a vampire as its subject/story line. I still think its cool. I'm such a geek. Lol!

classic example of a great artist that never caught the break of having a hit song layed in their path, your gonna tell me she wouldnt have made 'hit me with your best shot' a hit? she more than has the talent and looks to have been a great 80s pop star! they go from one dud to the next until they give up.

This is a pretty high budget video, her record company must have thought she was going to be a big star to have this much effort put into it. Sucks it didn't work out.

Wow, great voice, super gorgeous. And her video makes her either a serial killer or some kinda vampire. Thanks for posting this; this video is one of those "saw it once or twice on mtv" videos that you always kinda remember.

Nice. As I enjoyed her voice on the great song Separate Lives. This is nice to see and listen to.

Exactly! From the first note I thought of Pat Benatar. I think her voice is similar and the music really sounds like some Pat Benatar's stuff. I just keep thinking any moment now the words "danger zone" were going to fly out of her mouth.
