I think the song is about AIDS. Think about it, the apple is the forbidden fruit, those who eat it will die. The same way, sex, in particular homosexual sex (the apple of sodom) as is seen by christian mentality, is a forbidden pleasure and those who eat it (you`ve got something you can never eat) will die. Like vampires, the damnation of this act is passed trough each other while they are enjoying of that pleasure (a metaphor of blood, the source of the dark gift). When you finally eat the apple of sodome, your destiny is death, in conjunction with the other damned ones (I`m dying, I hope you´re dying too). In this sense, this is a Manson`s criticism of the AIDS stigma of the gay community.

I love hard n heavy music, but of all the bands I love from a comparable genre, slipknot korn coal chamber otep cradle kittie rob zombie vmob dimmu disturbed...only manson can produce a creapily enjoyable song for me with a slow tempo and no screaming... and he has quite a few.. he is definently more talented than he gets credit for.
