A bit like Club Tropicana where all thats missing is the sea - and then in the 2nd verse, we're invited to watch the waves break on the bay... How the f can the sea be missing if theres waves in a by? I mean, what is the deal with lyricists and continuity FGS? :-) :-)

but yesterday would have been the day of the party wouldnt it? Unless it finished before midnight. In which case, yesterday would have been the day before the party, wouldnt it? :-) But it cant be, because its twelve o clock and the last bus has gone. So, it cant be yesterday, its today. Only having a bit of fun :-) Dont get me wrong, I love the track and adore the whole album, its the one that got me back into them after a six year hiatus... but its a lyric that doesnt make sense.

And then it was yesterday, because the party was over...

The only bit I dont get is "and then it was yesterday" - hang on a minute, wouldnt it then be tomorrow? Or today? :-)

Just means like the next line says "she'd never felt anything like this before" - everything you've known is turned upside down, its a new experience, after which things will never be the same :-)

Its about that first time you get into something when you're young. When you don't really know what's going on and maybe you're a bit out of your depth. We've all been there as a teenager, with all these new experiences hitting you all at once. First its exciting and then you begin to get a bit scared when the realisation of what you've done comes home to you. Just such a great story, one of the things that Hogarth is very good at, a small personal story. @marooned007

@marooned007 good question i guess it means that in the heat of the moment we do things that later we might regreat. Or not.

Oh, I perfectly understand it's all about making love, but still don't catch this "synonym" ;)
