This is one Mariah Carey's best songs. I just love it. I think she captured the essence of "bubblegum" pop of 1999 and coupled it with actual musicality and lyricism haha. It's beautiful. Now, in terms of her singing live or not, I do think it's just the track playing; however, their mics are on. The background vocalists are adding extra harmony/vocals, and some of the harmonies are just louder. And starting at 2:02-2:09 Mariah added some harmony/vocal. Also, Trey Lorenz is particularly audible.

I have always loved this song. I have to agree with the statement that Carey is definitely NOT singing live during this performance. I have no idea why some people can't accept that even the best in the business don't always sing live. It's a fact of the music business. Regardless, this is a great song.

@chawlaybua But do you have any actual facts? Did Mariah tell you she was singing to a playback? Not all artists sing playback when they're in different countries. Mariah has said in interviews before that she doesn't lip sync or use a backing track in very supportive countries that she doesn't go to very often. For instance Italy, Japan, and France. Just letting you know. :-) Glad to know you're a fan.

@wrestlingfan1616 LOL I love Mariah, and I love her voice... WHY do you think I covered so many of her songs?? I'm just telling you, they're singing to a playback track. SO is Joe. He's not singing live either. When artists sing in different countries... they usually sing to a backing track OR complete playback.
