Just played this.. Used to be somewhat of a tradition on some East Midlands ILR stations for this to be the first record played after midnight at New Year, followed by Abba's Happy New Year. Have a great 2015, folks!

We had a box full of singles at boarding school in the early 80s, and one of those cream-and-red Dansette record players, and this was one of them. Yes, totally square, using the word Mods to cash in on the current trends, but a great tune nonetheless, cheers you up!

All the MoDs at the old 5 Star MoD & Scooter Club used to bang away to that tune! it was good for a laugh, with rows of Mods, toe, heel, jump forward, back,,etc!

Mint..when I was a kid I used to intentionally torment my younger brother by playing this ditty over and over again. Very lucky I didn't wake up with the headstock sticking out of my arse. Thank you Joe Loss for writing one of the most irritating tunes known to man :)

This was the Odeon cinemas evacuation music in the 70’s and 80’s Back when OH&S was “normal” Rank Theaters used this piece of music to alert the staff there was an issue (IRA bomb, Fire or what ever) The record was known as the “Mr Alert” music and would be played by the Projectionist or Manager The house staff were trained to recognize the music and exercise an evacuation procedure
