I would love to see a "Classic Albums" where Visconti goes through Electric Warrior. That really was an awesome step up from the previous album simply called T.Rex.

The documentary series was called Dancing In The Street which was aired in the early 2000s.I have one of the episodes on video about punk called No Fun,which includes bits not on the broardcast version, but sadly not the one with T.Rex on it.(I believe it was called Hang On To Yourself).

Where and when is this from - I'm guessing a bigger documentary series perhaps? My guess (judging by Tony's hair) is between 92 and 95. A BBC doc?

What's the name of this documentary? I'm a huge glam rock fan and would love to watch a documentary on it.

How they broke down "Hot Love" reminded me of a show I have seen called "Classic Albums" where they feature an album of an artist and break it down and talk about the creation of each individual track. Wouldn't' it be cool if they did a Classic Albums show for Marc? I don't know which album of his they could break down, because in my opinion they all are great, but I think it would be really fascinating if they did that. :)

I believe that is the correct date, you may need to dig a little deeper. However, 2005was the release date on my material. I hope that helps! I know there are many documentaries out there that have been put together later than 2005 (for example, by Rolan Bolan), but much of the material used in these is pieced together from older vids. This particular one I have posted is 2005. Hope this helps! XXXX

recently got some T Rex CDs from Amazon. Will check it out. You say 2005 was the updated version?

Got mine on Amazon...they're around, you might have to search a little. Mine is the updated version, I believe Paytress added more research around 2005 or so, based on new information that we know have about Marc. I got mine pretty cheaply, around $15 or so. Good luck, and it's a great read! XXXXX

Hi there! I believe the documentary came out around 2005 or so. Tony's a really interesting and nice guy, I agree. Another great book you might enjoy is Mark Payless' biography of Marc called: "Bolan: Rise & Fall of a 20th Century Superstar". Fascinating reading and provides MANY insights into the man. Payless is a respected biographer, and his research is immaculate. Let me know if read it, I'd love to hear your thoughts! XXXX

Love the breakdown of Hot Love. What year did this come out? I remember seeing this someplace before youtube. Esp. like the part about repeat echo. Tony's great guy. I'm going to read his bio again.

Yup! In his own words, Marc uses that song to document some of his own excesses and negative behaviors. A sad song, really. Another favorite song of mine is "Soul of My Suit", which Marc wrote after his final conversation with his (soon to be ex) wife, June. Marc's lyrics are fascinating. You find something new every time you listen. XXXX

After Electric Warrior, I think my two favorites are the Slider and Dandy in the Underworld. I have a couple of "essential collections", but really, Marc's best stuff (IMHO) were the songs that never really became Top 20 hits. Dandy was his last album (and in many ways, his masterpiece). It was really his most autobiographical album, and his lyrics give a really deep insight into his life and who he had become. Good stuff! XXXXX

Hey, no apologies necessary! Happy that you're checking out Marc's music! Listen closely, you'll hear how many times his chords and riffs are "sampled" by other musicians (Oasis for example). Marc was a major influence and really was the godfather of punk and New Wave (listen to "London Boys" and then compare it to Adam Ant) A man way ahead of his time. Check out my channel, there's some cool stuff there you might enjoy. Rock on, and keep a little Marc in your heart! XXXXX
