This is my "fast" rendition of Maple Leaf Rag. I know this won't sit well with the ragtime purists and that it isn't meant to be played as fast as possible. I just did it as a little personal challenge. If you want to hear me play it slow, come visit me at Disneyland in Anaheim!

You can also check out my website, http://www.pianowithjonny.com for more videos, sheet music, and my personal piano courses that teach you how to play your favorite styles of music.

Thanks for watching!

This is pretty sweet. How do you get your hands to be so relaxed?? ... I get so tense from moving these pianos that I cant play fast like that.

You have also taught me that playing the piano even if it is a slow song you should always play in a little bit quicker than the record when it's solo piano so it doesn't put somebody to sleep. The only we time we should play as slow was the record in most cases would be is if it is on CD for people that wanna fall asleep. I've started doing A whole new world a tad quicker since listening to you. It just gives the song a little more pep.

This is real time. He plays that fast. Watch some of his Disneyland videos at Coke Corner. Jonny, how the hell do you play that fast? It's amazing. I always watch the disneyland videos of you and Rod Miller and Alan Thompson. How does your brain comprehend playing that fast with the left hand base n rhythm chords?

The Maple Leaf Rag has often been used as background music played in this uptempo manner.

Sorry, I really like this type of music but this video is rather disappointing. Ragtime was dancing music so a little less speed would be appropriate imo. It's amazing how you play it and your skills are breathtaking but the music isn't really what I would like.
