Man's Gin is an American band from Colorado, and Smiling Dogs is their debut and only album, thus far. The thing that really spiked my interest in them originally was that it features a member from black metal band Cobalt, so I checked them out thinking they'd sound like Cobalt. There's some similarities, but otherwise these bands are worlds apart.

Another thing this song/band makes me want is a really stiff drink.

Kudos to metalhasmyballs2 for the lyrics.

So love your heroes, and kill your idols

'Cause where they're goin' we all follow

Your face is fading, offspring lightning

The whispers echo the holy miles

Duh, duh, duh, duh Duh, duh, duh, duh

And old George Handel is singing "no Messiah"

Yeah he's up there gloating, like he's the one we asked for

And old Joe Campbell is calling "dog" an icon

When Indra drinks from Soma's wet mouth we sang:

"Doggamn it all, boggamn it all"

"Doggamn it all, boggamn it all"

"Doggamn it all, boggamn it all"

Yeah! And old George Handel is singing "No Messiah!"

The faithful hang from cordless wires

And old Joe Campbell is calling 'God' a symbol

Where souls, they live on, the children sing on

They sing:

"Doggammit all, goddammit all"

"Goddammit all, goddammit all"

"Goddammit all, goddammit all"

"Goddammit all, goddammit all"

Yeah! And old George Handel is singing "No Messiah!"

Yeah he's up there gloating, like he's the one we asked for

And old Joe Campbell is calling "Dog" an icon

Where souls they live on the children sing on!

"Goddammit all, goddammit all"

"Goddammit all, goddammit all"

"Goddammit all, goddammit all"

"Goddammit all, goddammit all"

I had never heard of Man's Gin before, so after reading an article about this guy in the latest Decibel magazine, I took a chance and listened to this song first. So glad I did. Amazing...Fucking amazing! I love this shit! Thanks for the upload.

@TheSkiesAtOurFeet No problem, haha. I actually had to dig around for these lyrics a bit, they're not anywhere online or in the notes on the CD, they're posted on the Profound Lore website.

Have the lyrics to this? I've sang a long to it since I've had it and have no idea what the words are for 75% of the song.

Yeah I think its a shame that its only metalheads listening to this cuz it really appeals to a larger audience - really fantastic stuff!!!

@wakeupsheep00 I know what you mean, man. I personally think of this band and this album as the acoustic, clean-vocals version of Cobalt. It's also fairly accessible while being very...strange, so I've been able to get people not normally into this type of music to enjoy it, which gets them into better music, and gets the band another album sale. Win/win situation.

@wakeupsheep00 Believe me, I'm spreading it to every "receptive" person I know... this album is amazing.
