Used to listen to this walking my aunties down down the line (Aberdare way), I felt so alone and confused at the time. It sends such a different vibe now that I have returned, the Manics really deserve so much more credit then they get.

Just a beautiful song......so powerful......never heard it before, but it's basically the story of the Manics, describing their early years when they first came to London and rented a house (in said road) in Shepherds Bush. Love the way they include a snippet of Richy's voice discussing what people may or may not think about them as a band. A really nice touch, but they had too incorporate him into this track as he was such an integral part of their early years. It would have been wrong not to.

JDB's voice is so powerful. By that I don't mean loud (although it can be when he wants it to be!), I mean it, and their lyrics really resonate with you. Not many bands write such accomplished lyrics that are both powerful yet at times fragile too. Great singers sound distinctive and JDB is one.

@themanicstreet My favourite street in Shepherd's Bush. Although it does help that I live there.
