He sang this song to my sister as she sat onstage beside him during curtain call at a performance in Toronto back in 1995 ... <3

This is beautiful. Whenever I hear him, though, I keep imagining the movie 'Elmo In Grouchland' and him as Huxley.

Mandy is such an honest and one-of-a-kind performer. Who else would do this song like this?

I've never quite understood the need to knock a performer someone else loves; it's like telling someone "I hear you saying how much you love your husband, but meh - I don't really see it, personally". Marry who you wish, and live your life.

David's Broadway Station

This is DBS and it's 5:30 in the morning on a Monday in August....I wanted to play my favorite song from the score of "Into the Woods"...this song is almost a Rumi type enlightenment that Sondheim is telling us in lyric writing form...I had the great good fortune of seeing this show with Bernadette Peters and when the show was over, and I left the Theatre...I remember that I kissed the wall of the theatre because i almost felt unworthy of the teachings that I had just received! I believe, I could be wrong, that the Disney movie of "Into the Woods" will be released on January 15, 2015...and as I've said before...judging from the meticulous job that Rob Marshall did with Kander and Ebb's "Chicago" I can only surmise that he will deliver the best version of this musical on screen that is possible to produce and direct! The score, I think more than any other of Sondheim's scores, just gives the audience a lot to think about! That's what live Theatre is supposed to do:Make us think and debate and discuss what we have just had the privilege of seeing! I think that if this is the hit that I know it will be...I hope that Sondheim considers turning "Anyone Can Whistle" into a movie. If the libretto is tweaked and the singers are great, I truly think "Anyone Can Whistle" would be a great movie! This is DBS...and tomorrow I shall return with our tribute to Harold Arlen! I just wanted to say that I picked the Mandy Patinkin version because his voice, for me, is just heaven! In addition, he always sings with great knowledge of the human condition....and he attended my alma mater K.U so go Jayhawks!
