PRESENTED BY RACHEL KORMAN

Major Minus is an acclaimed teen, indie-rock musical collective from Pasadena California with a loyal following. Fusing rock, indie pop, and operatic raw vocals, the four-piece soon garnered attention from renowned industry execs including Grammy nominated producer Ghian Wright (Paul McCartney, Oasis, John Legend) who worked with the band on their debut EP.

The self-titled EP, was recorded at the famed Village Recorder in Hollywood, and features a collection of catchy indie rock anthems highlighting themes of young heartbreak, betrayal and first love. Opening track Duo features a driving drumbeat, heavy guitars and catchy vocals reminiscent of early Green Day. Songs is perhaps Major Minus’s strongest track with poignant, delicate vocals and beautiful keys. Trust, shows the band’s experimental sound with clashing guitar riffs and powerful vocals, which so brilliantly tells the story of lost love.

Major Minus is composed of bass player Noah Herndon (18), drummer Lukas Hutzler (16), lead guitarist Erwin Mendez (16) and singer-songwriter Charlie Smith, who, at only 17, boasts the vocal power and songwriting ability of a frontman twice his age. The band has graced the stages of such renowned venues as The House of Blues and Club Nokia, and is quickly becoming the teen rock band to watch in Southern California.

Is it just me, or does this song kinda sound like "Closing Time" by Semisonic?
