On this day in 1965 {September 30th} Major Lance performed "Too Hot To Hold" on the ABC-TV program 'Shindig!'... One month earlier on August 28th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart for a three week stay, peaking at #93... It reached #32 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart... Major Lance passed away on September 3rd, 1994 at the young age of 55... May he R.I.P., along with Jimmy O'Neil {Shindig's host, 1940 - 2013}...

This was a curious label issue,most Okeh singles had 45 printed larger than rpm and re-issues with the same size but this only had 45 and rpm the same size ! Record junkie talk ! KTF
