Back then Madonna was the best dancer on the stage usually. And I dare anyone to find more than 10 seconds in a row where she isn't smiling while performing even nowadays. You can always see 100% effort and at least high 90s% that she LOVES doing each song on every tour. She made a Billion dollars doing what she loves, and made millions of people happy on the way. If Utube is still on when I'm 90 years old, I'll be watching these old Madonna tours and still be entertained.

This is very skilfully mixed backing track with a little live vocals, but it's mainly playback. Compare this and Like a Prayer or Cherish from Blond Ambition. The difference in the singing quality is very clear.

Is she improvising here? Whatever--either way the fact that she owns that huge stage without a huge cadre of backup dancers for the first half of the song is really fun and not something I've seen many other singers do.
