Recently I´ve uploaded this video as a Type O Negative cover, because when I´ve received this track years ago, it was labelled as a Type O Negative cover, so I thought it was a kind of B-side. After I´ve posted it, some angry hardcore Type O Negative fans appeared and bitched about the track. After a little investigative work I´ve found out that this is indeed a song from a band named Mad Machinery. I´ve never heard of them. But they did a really good job in imitating Type O Negative (and in covering this song too :)).

I´ve placed Type O Negative into the tags because many people mistake this song for one of theirs.

At last, I´ve made this video to a small Saturn trip.

I always thought this was Mad Machinery featuring Peter Steele (RIP) but trying to search google for a clear answer doesn't turn up anything. If anyone has a link to any sort of citation that declares who is on vocals for this track I'd like to see it.This was the problem with songs being spread in the late 90s/early 00s, people named them all sorts, I remember coming across Graveworm's cover of Fear Of The Dark and someone was trying to pass it off as Cradle Of Filth (very obvious it wasn't), Twisted Coil's song Stomping Grounds as a Metallica song and Tears Of Passion's song Angel as a Type O Negative track. Not to mention some really old Richard Cheese stuff being passed around as Weird Al.

Peter Steele would be the one.. to sing this song.. crush it so hard, and take your breath away! More sweet little girlie songs need this treatment given to them :-)

hahaha, I also had this song many years ago labeled as a type o negative song. Oh, the early days of the internet. I love this cover so much. It's just too ridiculous not to love.

It's definitely Peter's voice in the beginning when he's speaking with someone (interviewer?), but it doesn't really sound as if it's him singing :-/ Don't go throwing stones at me :D I'm just a n00b so I'm just guessin' :3

Hailing from Westchester, New York, Mad Machinery was originally a one-man operation. Covelli put together a compilation of his works and dubbed it Dino Covelli's Mad Machinery. A buzz began on the internet when a song from the album, an homage to Type O Negative, was traded on Napster and caused confusion among Type O's fans as to the artist's origin. "Possession," originally a Sarah McLachlan song, was a favorite of Covelli's as he chose to cover it in the style of Type O.

*sigh* people. It was Dino Covelli, *NOT* Pete Steele(RIP). The mistaken version of "Possession" was actually a purposefully TON-style recording made in 1996 by Dino Covelli as a school project which later began circulating the Internet through Napster.

He may have done this for a class, but yeah I'm 99.9% sure this is peter steele, and you if you think, peter steele was under contract with road runner, and I'm sure that has something to do with all the mystery.

I really don't know, and haven't read up on this song to much, but I have had it for a long fucking time, since it first came out honestly, I was always under the understanding that it is peter steele singing, and it's Dino doing all the instrumentals to the song. I am a huge type o negative and carnivore fan, and yeah there's no mistaking the vocals on this track are peter steele, or Dino has done a really fucking great job, at the beginning i'm pretty it's Peter talking to Dino not his prof.

It sort of sounds like Pete and it sort of doesn't but the thing is those noises the guy keeps making in this song Pete makes those same noises and also the other little voice mannerisms. I'd say this is without a doubt Pete.

This is without a doubt Type O Negative. Fans..... just listen. Nobody else has Peter's voice, and no other band plays the organ like that.

I have heard this apparently redone in true TON-mode,(slow it down a little bit more) and it is scary how close it sounds to the man and the madness that is Pete and Type O.
