Drug addiction is real, but I think people put certain drugs on a pedestal and forget about all the other (considered perfectly fine) addictions. Cigarettes are considered normal. They're legal, can be bought almost anywhere and are very harmful to your health. Fast food, again, can be addictive (obesity) and yet it's considered perfectly fine to eat fast food on a daily basis. There are many more examples, but my point is, anything can become addictive, and people seem to forget that.
