Lyrics:

There's the food, there's the bread

What more could I need

It's In my head, I've heard It said

But still my spirit bleeds

I need life blood

I'm old enough to see the lies

The world is so confused

We play the game, it's called success

I'm thoroughly amused

I still need life blood

Ironic as it might seem to your head

Some people think they're alive

They're only living dead

l am a man, I'm made from dust

I breathe and live and die

And through the door painted by death

You're gonna fall or fly

You need life blood

(Chorus)

l am a man, I'm made from dust

I breathe and live and die

I can vividly remember popping this cassette for the very first time into my little realistic cassette recorder and this drumbeat came pouring out. Very influential. Then as I grew up, I started to recognize the Oingo-isms, the Mode-isms. Great memories. I would have killed for a "youtube" back then, but I guess my little cassette recorder made it all the more sweeter.

Actually MATW was more than capable of performing the songs from the first album live. The problem they kept having were with the trigger mics that were attached to Randy's set of objects. He had metal pipes, a red manikin head, that housed trigger mics which were ported into his Roland Octapad. It was an ingenious concept but they under estimated the sensitivity of these trigger mics for live performances. They were a VERY loud band.I remember when they performed their very first big concert for Frontline Records at Knott's Berry Farm. It was the most chaotic scene. As they were performing the triggers would start going off randomly. It was just a sad mess because we were all so excited to hear our guys perform. Frontline Records really pushed to promote them so they had to make it work.In the end it was a good thing thought because Randy is a DRUMMER! With the original set up he wasn't really drumming. He was loading samples and banging things that were not instruments..,, they were objects. Randy needs a real drum set.

This is definitely one of their best songs. I'm so glad I know of this band. I own Flowers in the Rain on cassette - totally wore that thing out!

... and this album is almost completely different than their later output ... they became kind of a hybrid metal-ish band.

I bought this cassette while stationed in Japan, totally a different beat, but it became one of my favorites

My brother bought this when it first came out! It really grew on me! Alot of industrial electronica influence on this...very Depeche Mode. Love it...
