More rappers should make songs with a meaning, if you think for a second singers are important, they speak and everyone will listen. If they use theyr popularity to say what is wrong, everyone will listen to them in the radio, in tv, on youtube unlike a normal person, i think music is a great thing, both to enjoy and to use as a way to comunicate

Talking about best artists and all that, completely missing the power of this song. This is more than just some mainstream song. As someone who has himself struggled with Opiate addiction, this song is extremely powerful and rings true. First was trying some Tylenol 3s from my mom's medicine cabinet. Then came Oxy and even stronger Opana 40mg extended releases. Luckily it never resulted to heroin and I am now clean, along with many of my friends, some it didn't work out so well for. Almost ruined my life. So while some are arguing over best artists and all, try to think about the true message in this. Thanks.

Most rappers rap about how great drugs are, when macklemore raps about how it kills people. Some rap about how great fucking some filthy girl is, Macklemore raps about supporting gay marriage. He has meaning, lessons, and guidance. This is why he is my favorite rapper.
