I take it as a compliment that so many consider themselves Irish/American. Granted, not many are actually legit, but still, we're a small nation and to have a lineage stretch across the globe is something to be proud of. And as for "plastic paddys", there are as many in Ireland, who were actually born here, as there is around the globe!

On a single day at the height of the famine in 1847 the following goods were exported from Cork harbour bay, with the ship which sailed with its bellies in the water ......160 bags of flower, 286 barrels of barley  , 234 barrels of wheat ,96 casts of ham, 486 box's of eggs, 219 head of cattle......... on single day!! the ship sailed with its belly in the water ........ they are dreaming of the hills of Donegal... That's what it means to be Irish.... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This fella is an awful feckin eejit. I'd say he's never even been to Ireland and he's calling himself Irish. Plastic Paddy if I ever saw one. And just to let all you yanks know, we don't all go out and get pissed of our heads. And no one try to tell me that you have to listen to his songs and see how inspirational they are because at the end of the day he's dosent even rap in half of them. He just says his songs like a poem with rhythm. Eminem will always we the king of rap. Why? Because he doesn't fake his songs like this song. 5...4...3...2...1...and let the hate commence.

Here's a sincere question, there are countless analytical statistics which suggest there are between 39-45 million people of Irish descent currently living in America. The results of these studies derive from polls, merely asking people what they are. Meaning; no sufficient evidence had been put forth to substantiate their claim as true, no, they were just asked to write down what they feel. If only 1 million or so Irish left during the Great Famine, and not JUST to the U.S. (as many of them claim), but as many left for Scotland, Wales, England even, Canada, Australia, Austria, et cetera and so forth. Ireland currently has a population of 4+ million, even in it's prime, the island has never amassed anything remotely close to the figures claimed by the U.S. The figures required for them to really have 39-45 million "Irish-Americans" don't exist, they-do-not-exist. You're saying in less than a lifetime and a half, that your country amassed 38-44 million more Irish than ever left the country. Then throw in the hundreds of thousand of individuals whom were adopted into Irish-American families due to infertility in the man or woman, individuals whom legally changed their names to be an Irish surname (you'd be baffled by how common that is), et cetera and so forth. So, here's the question.. why do so many Americans, and yes, I'm singling out Yanks, because no other country does this whole.. "I'm Irish-Scottish-Polish-German-Russian-1/16 Swiss, because of my Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Grandfather. (Can you prove it?) Well, my name is McGee.. (Can you prove it?) Yeah, see, I'm wearing a "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" t-shirt and I drink a ton" -stuff. How do you know you're Irish? That's the question, how do you know, put aside the "my father told me that his father told him", do any of you actually know whether or not you're really Irish?
