You know what is the one thing I genuinely hate about Machine Head? They write a lot of kick ass, groovy, headbanging riffs (like in this song), but they play them on a singular string, thus making the song sound softer than it should've been. Why not just play those riffs in power chords? They would sound ten times better than what they are. I guess they play riffs from Halo and Days Turn Blue To Gray because the closure to both riffs have power chord progression, and if the entire riff construction was written in power chords, that last part wouldn't have emphasis and it would all sound the same. Which is bullshit. Isn't there, like, some uber-tight chord (name of which I don't know), that's basically a major chord, where you use all four strings to create a double power chord? Why not use that to emphasize the riff?
