Whenever we had a new recruit at the fire house, we would tell him that if the Capt. ever asked him "you know why I like to look into the mirror in the mornin' ?, it's because I get better lookin each day ", then to be careful because he's ready to ask you out. We worried so many youngsters with that joke. Of course the Capt. was in on it. He'd say it and they'd come running away from wherever they were at the time. Not PC ? We didn't give a shit then and we still don't now. Great fun and a way to show a boot that he was accepted.
