Makes me miss my grandma so much. She raised me and I grew up listening to the Lawrence Welk Show, among others. I had forgotten that Lynn Anderson came from the Lawrence Welk Show. I'm listening to it now for my grandma, who I miss terribly. I hope Heaven has a rose garden.

We had it on Carl's Drive-In! Carl's gone but I ain't! I just offered to give any geeky kid all of my investments to come up with a time machine to take me back to those days. Any taker's!

I was watching TV today and they showed her sining this song for a lot of people here in Norway, and I were very suprised to see her here in Norway, but I was more suprised to see that she were actually singing for people in her family :D I have to say im proud to see that we have some connection to good country music here too....unfortunately thats music thats dying here ):

Aww, I know. I'm grateful for the memories it brings back of my Gramma, who hated country music as a rule but found this song irresistable. It was a treat to discover we both liked it and for the same reasons: the bright and bouncy musical arrangement and lilting harmonies contrasted with Lynn's sassy reading of a very mature, non-nonsense message. (And then there was the eye candy appeal of Miss Anderson in all her blonde, big-haired glory--okay, I didn't tell Gramma about that part... lol)

...And aside from the annoying Adam Sandler promo, a pleasure to hear it once again! And watch the lovely Lynn sing it. Thanks for your reply, abbachris--it brought me back to this clip. After the week I've had, I needed this song and the warm memories it brings back.
