It occurs to me that Lyle possesses the rare ability to weave into his compositions and playing, the qualities of sentimentality such as from a fond memory of someone or something and simultaneously the indescribable sensation one experiences while viewing something from a considerable distance such as a mountain or a cityscape some miles away. Both emotions are difficult to express in words and/or in music.
