Excellent!!!! Been a fan since my first live show. Love how he gave the lady backup singer her own spotlight back then. She blew us all away!

When he draws out those notes, makes me shiver. What a talented guy.

My favorite genre is not really what Lyle plays, but I think he's a brilliant song writer/musician. I don't love everything he's recorded, but I really love a number of his songs.

I can remember my grandmother telling me how she and my grandfather would turn on the radio and dance in the living room with each other during the 1920's. With songs like this I can imagine doing the same thing today. No reason you have to leave the house when the mood strikes you. grab the one you love and just pull them close when you hear a song like this.

I love how Lyle and his band always wear a tie. He has a respect for the music and audience. It just reflects a respect. I love that.

Lyle's touch on guitar is almost never noted or noticed, but he has really learned to accompany himself with the guitar almost becoming part of his soul. He is not the easiest listen for everyone, but when you give him your time you are rewarded with great songs, elegantly performed. May God always bless Bill Collings for these indescribable guitars that get the best out of every player.

I was in the oilfield at the time. I'm from Texas. I was on a prop plane to Casper from Salt Lake. I could have touched both sides of the fuselage with my finger tips. I remember a guy from Dakota across from me. He had a Stetson with no smile. But no frown. He ordered a Jack and water w/o the water on that tiny plane. I recall thinking, " I am at home here".

This son was written by two great Texas songwriters-Lyle Lovett and Willis Allen Ramsey.

Julia who? Lyle Lovett stands taller and contributes to art/entertainment more than Julia Roberts could ever imagine trying to.

Lyle's genius, aside from his prodigious writing and singing, is his assemblage of the absolute best backing musicians! The addition of the resonator guitar sound is a nice touch in this live version. Always a haunting song in any of its various incarnations. Nicely done!

Just saw Russ play drums with Lyle on this song last night. Leland Sklar on bass too. It's piano and Lyle's timing that make the song, but having Russ on brushes and timpany while I kept time with my foot was ecstatic for me. Russ and Le don't tour that much: but I'm lucky enough to've seen them onstage each decade for forty years. Jackson B,, Linda R., James T., and Lyle. When the stage lights came up last night and I saw Leland's white beard from row one, I new it would be a great night. twas
