For sure not the more complicated musicstyle I generally like but this has that much of soul and gospel feel I immediately fell for Lyle's music, have a try and enjoy!

Lyle Lovett and his Large Band was one of the best concerts I've ever experienced.

Changing tempos, clever lyrics, and a chorus that shifts in time with subtle changes in lyrics . . . in comparison to simple bar chords and repetitive synthesizers ???

@clcjr that, and his ability to tell truely amazing stories inside of his songs. thatss what made me fall in love with his music because he could weave stories, the preacher kept preaching.

I don't think you understood what I'm telling about this music, I like it really a lot but compared with a lot of my other favorit music, jazz-jazzrock-funkrock or technorock, Gentle Giant, Genesis, Pat Metheny etc, is this totally different in construction which I described as 'not that complicated' but appreciated too and with respect.

PURE LYLE - how can you say this is simplistic?!? With a few notes, the depth of emotion, history, and music is conveyed tothe listener.
