Luther was my dad's favorite singer and my sister and I used to be his backup dancers, on all of Luther's cuts, lol. I last saw my dad on Dec 25th,1989. He died of Aids on December 27th and his birthday is Dec. 28th. So the lyrics of this song, coupled with who sings it and the giant hole in my heart, brings great memories and great sadness to me. Every year, and every Christmas. RIP to both of them.
