Lush is still one of my favorite bands of all time, but I must admit most of their songs are about 1st world single girl issues.

I too read this interview. I think internet can provide new opportunities for bands : that's how the Throwing Muses could reunite - not to mention My Bloody Valentine and the Breeders being also back on the road these days (which is great). I tend to think that Lush could consider the many possibilities this kind of technology can bring them.

1994? I though this was new!

Might have something to do with the digital production techniques. I find that a lot of the sounds from the 80s and the 90s sound more pleasing and definitely way more interesting than those recorded today. Just a thought

I listened to this band when I moved across country from Washington to New York with my mom. And again when I moved from New York to Hawaii. I was young and couldn't remember much of anything. 20 years now and I just found them again! Very Very Happy Day.

Congratulations! I remember vividly when I discovered them. Was breathless for a year. Try to find their Scar EP. It's great.

the prodigy and skunk anansie aren't really one hit wonders at all

Maybe they're already too late. The 00s were so barren of decent music, a lot of 80s and 90s bands earned big money by reuniting and playing only their old music at concerts. If you see a lineup of Pinkpop (a dutch festival) for the last few years, you have mediocre acts like the prodigy, skunk anansie etc. headlining, even though they were more or less one hit wonders in the 90s whose music became dated very fast.

actually, emma did an interview 2 months ago, basically said if the money was right, they would do it, providing they could find a suitable drummer. with her and miki having kids, jobs, etc., it would "take a lot of money" (her words). i guess three times over the last 2 years they were approached by promoters, only to have it fall thru. can't blame her, why should they have to pay out of pocket...BUT on a side note, andy bell is warming to a ride reunion; mark, loz and steve are already game...
