Yup I remember that song-- For all the Jaffas info--L'Derry was Doire Colmcille. When the London Company came there in the 1600s, that is when the place became Londonderry. The London Company was something similar to what the Dutch had --The East India Co.. Before hand, I believe Derry was primarily a monastic site--maybe a bit of a village grew around it. Actually the walls of Derry are the best preserved walls in Europe. Well they were built in the 1640s --could be wrong on date.
